If you are looking for a cloth diaper with beautiful colors, trim fit and great absorbency, you will definitely want to try Oh Katy One-Size Pocket Cloth Diapers! I received an Oh Katy in bright Cherry red to review, and I was very excited to try it out. I’ve heard great things about these diapers and wanted to see how they work on Baby M.

The Details
- One-size diaper fits babies 8-35 lbs.
- Pocket diaper
- Snap closures
- PUL outer
- Microfleece inner (stay-dry)
- Includes two microfleece inserts (one adjustable and one newborn/doubler)
Things I Love
This is one of the very few one-size diapers I have tried that would actually, truly fit a newborn. The sizing on the package says they start fitting at 8 lbs, but I think they would even start fitting at 6-7 lbs. These diapers snap down very small in the rise, crossover on the waist, and have nifty newborn hip snaps in place to prevent wing droop. Most importantly, the leg holes become VERY small on the smallest setting, which is something that that can’t be said about most one-size diapers. Newborns tend to have skinny little thighs and I know with Baby M, he leaked out of almost every one-size diaper as a newborn because the leg holes were too big for his tiny thighs. I’m confident we wouldn’t have had this problem if we were using Oh Katy diapers!

To show even better how TINY these diapers get, here is a comparison picture of the Oh Katy and a Bumgenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper snapped down to the very smallest settings:

The microfleece lining is very soft and the elastics are gentle. This is a comfy cozy diaper which is important to me. One of the biggest reasons Baby M is cloth diapered is for his comfort.

The fit is great and the diaper is very trim! Baby M is 15 months and 24 lbs, and this is what the diaper looks like on him (stuffed with BOTH inserts and set on the highest rise setting):

The pocket opening is in the front, which is nice because you don’t have to unstuff it from the back when the diaper is dirty.

The inserts are very absorbent! Using both inserts, Baby M easily lasted the regular 2 hours between diaper changes, and could have gone longer.

I love all of the colors! It was really hard to pick just one color when they are all so pretty. The colors are all a different, unique shade that you won’t find from other brands. I like that. I can easily see how mamas can get hooked on Oh Katy diapers and need one of each color!
The snaps stay snapped! And the quality of the diaper is worth every penny.
Things I Would Change
While I love the sizing for newborns and Baby M fits the diaper very well at his current size, I am not entirely confident this diaper will fit him until potty training. It might. But I wish the rise was higher. With almost any other one-size diaper, he is currently on the middle (or second-to-largest) rise setting. With Oh Katy diapers, he is already on the very largest rise setting. I am hoping he will not outgrow the rise but it does seem like a possibility. This is a comparison shot of the Oh Katy and a Bumgenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper on the largest settings to show the size difference:

I wish Oh Katy offered an aplix version, and I also wish they had prints!
The Bottom Line
I love this diaper! This is definitely one that I would buy myself and recommend to others. My only real concern is that Baby M may outgrow it before he is potty trained, but that remains to be seen. For now it fits very well, and is super trim, soft and absorbent. I hope I can add more to my cloth diaper stash!

I am a wife to my wonderful husband of 5 years and a stay-at-home mom to our two amazing little boys (Big M is 2 years old and Little M is 6 months old). When I'm not cleaning the house, playing with the boys, or changing diapers, I love to shop, sew, watch movies, sleep (ha!), and of course write in my blog!

I learned the pocket opening is in the front – which is really great!
Just learning about another new brand is great… always exciting to try new things!
They don’t have prints which is a shame!
its surprising they don’t offer aplix, I didn’t know that. but i think i prefer snaps anyway
The Oh Katy can be snapped down to make a much smaller diaper then the comparison diaper
I learned that this diaper can get incredibly small, which isn’t always the case for some one size diapers. This would be great for newborn diapering!
I learned that Oh Katy’s have a cute little trim fit, but they run small.
The pocket opening is in the front. I’d much rather have my hand get wet than messy.
I didn’t really know anything about them before so I learned a lot. But I thought it was interesting that the pocket opening is in the front.
I learned how big they look on their largest setting and that these diapers do their job as far as absorbancy, and that they go up to 35 pounds. My daughter is 31 pounds and I’m looking for something for potty training and I think these would fit.
I learned that they are a good fit on skinny thighs.
The diaper is super trim.
I like that the insert is super absorbent, but the diaper is still a trim fit.
I learned that the inserts are very absorbent.
It runs smaller than BumGenius
I learned that they only come in snaps.
I learned that the opening is in the front.
I learned that these diapers are a great fit for my skinny legged little guy
It seems to fit a newborn baby.
I learned that the diaper has a very trim fit, so that will help with bulkiness under clothes.

learned that they fit also skinny babies and is trim
I learned that the opening for the insert is in the front which I really like.
I like that you think these would fit newborns. The more one-size diapers I can use, the better!
I learned it has leg adjustments! I love that idea!
