Rugs USA: Flagship Carpets Educational “Places to Go” Rug Review!

I’ve wanted to get an area rug for Baby M’s playroom for a while now, and I was so excited when Rugs USA offered to send me a rug to review! Since we have a hardwood floor in the playroom, I wanted something cushy–but also pretty “flat” so he can stack his blocks and race his cars across it. I also wanted something fun, engaging, and even a little educational if possible. After browsing their incredible selection of rugs, I chose the Flagship Carpets Educational Places to Go Rug. Baby M loves playing with cars, trucks, trains, and any other vehicles, and I knew he would enjoy playing on a rug that features roadways and railways!

Rugs USA offers the Places to Go rug in several different sizes, and they even have a round version if that’s what your looking for. I chose the 6′ x 9′ rug for our playroom, and it fits perfectly.

In addition to the roads and train tracks, the rug features a small town with a fire station, hospital, post office, bank and more. The pattern is repeated several times but the rug is so large that I really don’t notice the repetition when we’re playing on it. Baby M’s toy vehicles fit perfectly on the roads and in the parking lots. At 20 months, he is still a little too young to understand the concept of staying in the lanes or traveling from building to building, but when he gets a little older I know he will love zipping his cars down the different roads to get to his destination. Speaking of which, I like that the rug is also educational. Your child can learn all about the laws of the road with this rug! The roads have single, double or dotted lines, and there are stop signs, traffic lights, bridges and railroad crossings along the way.

The colors are bright and engaging, and I think the rug looks great in our playroom. With the carpet pad underneath (which can also be purchased at Rugs USA), the rug is quite soft and the whole family enjoys sitting on it. Baby M likes to run laps on the rug, and then sprawl out on his tummy with a good book. That said, this rug is totally kid approved in our house!

The rug arrived in perfect condition and I really couldn’t be happier with it. These rugs are made in the USA, and the quality is exceptional. I like that this particular pattern will hide stains (should we ever have a sippy cup incident or something), and the rug is really easy to vacuum. Initially I had worried about how much a new carpet would smell, but we hardly noticed any chemical smells at all and within two days there wasn’t even the slightest odor anymore. I’m very pleased with this rug and would certainly purchase from Rugs USA in the future!
